Deadwood, SD

Historic Deadwood re-enacts the shooting of Wild Bill Hickok at the famous #10 Saloon and we were there. John was asked to be the bartender.
This is the site of the shooting with the famous card hand (double 8 and 3 Ace).

Wild Bill Hickok telling his story.

The bartender and the hussy.....and a good looking one, may I say.

The shooting of Wild Bill Kickok by Jack McCall.

Wild Bill, Ella and Jack McCall

Grave sites at Mount Moriah.
Wild Bill's final resting place and next to him Calamity Jane's grave site. It was something to see.

On the way to the Black Hills

We left the Rocky Mountains and the terrain sure changed.
This Mammoth site landmark cough our eyes. This was a site of a sink hole where Mammoths have been unearthed. It was very interesting to say the least. Did you know they only had 4 teeth at one time? Can you imagine the USA full of Columbian and Woolly Mammoths?

This Roughlock falls hike wash off the Spearfish Canyon Bypass. This was pretty scenery and much different then what we had been seeing.

Now this is something interesting...... Can a tree grow out of a rock?? I saw several doing that very thing!!!

Cascade, CO

The four of us went to the Royal Gorge. This is John in front of his West Virginia flag and the Arkansas River is below. We had just spent the morning water rafting down that same river.

The next day we went with family to a dinner show at the Flying W Ranch. The Grandchildren looked like they had never experienced such a western Hoe Down. The cowboy theme, the western music and beans made it a real new experience for them.

We also did some hiking and climbing around the Garden of the Gods. Uncle Ray took them on some real great climbs.

See the eagle that is created by the Indian dancer's shadow.... We also went to the Manitou Cliff Dwelling and let me tell you, the grandchildren really loved climbing all around the rooms. We hated to send them back home on the 12.

Rocky Mountain, CO with Grandchildren -Star & Moon

We and the grandchildren went looking for elk and other animals. We saw big horn sheep, elk, deer, coyote, birds and flowers.

We also went on 2 horse back riding... One time in the Rocky Mountains and the other horse back ride was in the Garden of the Gods.

Rocky Mountain National Park with Grandkids

Two Grandchildren got to join us in exploring Rocky Mountain National Park. This truely is "Colorful Colorado". The mountains are full of all shades of orange.

John with cousin Connie and Connie's daughter Denise. We had a wonderful visit and were so glad to see them.

Ella and her long lost friend from Alaska. We had a great lunch and got to catch up on all kinds of up coming events. I also got to meet her Denver friend.

We all got to see this Big Horn Sheep herd come into Sheep Lakes here at the Rocky Mountain National Park. When the ranger started his talk they came closer, like they were listening to what he was saying.

Grandma thought this was a beautiful bug..... Grandchild could not be convinced that it was a thing of beauty.

Gtand Tetons

Mother moose (cow) and her calf wander thru the campgrounds.

Just a dandelion but with this wonderful camera.... It shows off God's beauty.
Thanks kids for the wonderful Christmas gift.

This lake is in the Colder Bay campground. It is as magnificent as it looks......but that water is cold!!!

Nice photo of John in front of the Tetons, don't you think????

Grand Tetons

At inspiration point, looking down on Jenny Lake. We hiked around the lake & thru the canyon.....about 6miles.

Beautiful Tetons

Look at these flowers that The Lord cares for every day.
